Great little hidden cafe off the main drag. Don't expect trendy or upscale furnishings but do expect good comfort food and a friendly staff. If you miss the home cooked breakfast, be sure to order the daily lunch special. I chose the fabulous pot roast over rice, okra, and spicy green beans with homemade rolls and cornbread. It was delicious. 4 stars because they ran out of the special.
I live in Houston and every time we come though it's a must to stop here for awesome home cooking... There was 12 with us tonight and all git something different and everything was amazing as always!
My husband had the Philly Cheese steak and I had the club sandwich. Both were delicious and they have a large selection of pie too - we tried apple and coconut cream and they were both good! The homemade bread is flaky and buttery and was excellent. This is a down home local place and you can tell it's a community staple. Great and friendly service and great prices too.... we'll be back!
Great food, amazing variety, and fair prices. The regulars we're having a ball the morning we went and that was almost as enjoyable as the meal itself. Some of the best biscuit and sausage gravy around -- and it even reheated well the next morning.
The building it self is simple and humble, however the food is delicious. If you're looking for homemade comfort food at a reasonable price definitely give this place a try.
